Who We Are

Meet Our Founder: Sarah Barton-Wales
At the heart of MINDPAUSE is a woman who knows what it means to lead with purpose, advocate with passion, and care deeply for the wellbeing of others.
Sarah Barton-Wales is an experienced leader in education, a mother of three, a mental health advocate—and the visionary founder behind MindPause.
With a distinguished career in public education, Sarah’s mission has always been clear: to make access to support, whether in music education or mental health, truly equitable.
Witnessing many great women in her life experience the emotional and psychological upheaval of perimenopause with little preparation, little support, and a lot of questions. Combined with her background in community building and lifelong learning—that sparked the creation of MINDPAUSE.
“I realised it was making previously confident and strong women, feel invisible and silent”
Sarah brings to MINDPAUSE not only her leadership expertise and research-driven mindset (she holds an MA in Leadership in Education), but also her deep commitment to community. She previously founded Normalitea, a parent support group focused on shared stories and solidarity—values that are woven into the very fabric of MINDPAUSE.
Through this platform, Sarah is building more than a business. She’s building a movement—one that gives women the tools, the space, and the support to care for their mental health with compassion and confidence during menopause.
“MINDPAUSE exists because no woman should have to navigate this alone.”
